Bargain and sale by Sir Edward Herbert of Pantioken in the parish of Greyforthe in the county of Denbyghe, knight, and Dame Mary his wife, daughter and heir of Thomas Stanley, esquire, deceased, late treasurer of the Mint, to William Patrickson of Careswellhow in the parish of Ennerdell in the county of Cumberland, gentleman, for £190. 12s. 6d. of all the parcels of the demesne lands, etc., of the manor of Egremont in the parish of Egremont, with lands in Egremont called Bore or Borowe lands, leased by her majesty the queen to John Forman late of London at a yearly rent of 36s. 1 1/2d. now payable by or amongst the same tenants; always excepting feudal incidents, manorial rights, the water mill called the corne mill in Egremont, now in the occupation or holding of George Bankes, and the water courses belonging thereto, and also excepting the castle of Egremont with the yard belonging thereto.
